The principle and value of legality in its various implications is the axis of the theoric interest of the great constitutionalist Piero Calamandrei: the issue of all his life as a lawyer. But it is not a stationary axis, because it experienced a significant evolution, which accredits the absence of dogmatism, the presence of a living sensitivity to environmental stimuli, and constant readiness to take over the demands that a turbulent and often dramatic reality raised him as a man of law and a citizen intensely committed to the health of the polis.
