Wolfhart Pannenberg

Pannenberg can be seen as the Protestant theologian who has faced in obvious form the challenge of the Enlightenment. The program that he pursues goes under the name of "revelation as history" and through it he wants to get away from a conception of revelation tied to God's and Word's authority. If the detection is done through the history, then it is universally available and in relation to it you can exercise the critical thinking. Between faith and reason there is no more a relationship of opposition, but of continuity. In this perspective, theology dialogues with all the forms of knowledge, including sciences, and in doing so manages to reveal the meaning of faith for the existence of contemporary man.
