The memoirs of Michele Bianchi (aka Angelo Vimina) were published in Venice in 1671 with the title "History of Civil Wars in Poland". The author did not merely tell the story of Polish wars against the Cossacks between 1648 and 1652, but extended his observations to the complex scene of eastern Europe and the North Sea. He demonstrated not only that he knew very well the diplomatic aspects of the matter, but also that he has drawn to the local historical sources, to know in depth the geography, language, customs, habits and customs of the peoples involved in the facts taken into account.
