Postcristianesimo?
Il malessere e le speranze dell'Occidente
Is existence destined to remain an incomprehensible enigma? Are we condemned to the emptiness of solitude? If there is a God, why is he silent? These are the radical questions posed by contemporary man.
Postmodern society in Europe has moved away from Christianity which is no longer, sociologically, the dominant civil religion, "but it is not said - Scola writes - that the time of Postcristianism has come. Even today there are women and men who continue to wait for the Other to come to meet them, freeing them from themselves and returning them to themselves, continuing to save them with their existence. To this tenacious expectation is the questioning form of the title Postcristianism?, because it is precisely with that expectation that Christianity wants to enter into dialogue, in order to offer a hope for today and for tomorrow".
Hence a research path through the pages of this book deals with many crucial issues of our time: the relationship with God, the paradoxical freedom that paralyzes us, the value that today takes the testimony of Christians.
