The Naval War in the Mediterranean 1914-1918
Between 1914 and 1918 in the relatively small Mediterranean area the English, French, Italian, Russian Navies, on the one hand, to whom later joined the Japanese and American, and German, Austro-Hungarian and Turkish, on the other.
In that mosaic of fields, campaigns and operations, seemingly unrelated one to each other, in naval history there is a great number of studies, narratives and memoirs, often very good, but as well disconnected, not supported by the overview Halpern succeed to do for the first time about the Mediterranean theater, starting with a massive work of cross-searching in all the archives, never done before.
