Detti e fatti delle donne del deserto

It has always been repeated that in ancient times women were speechless. The oppression to which they were subjected is denounced, and the little weight they always had and which still characterizes them in the Church today.

However, by immersing ourselves in a more careful listening, in a more in-depth research, we can discover female traces in the Church throughout history.

This is the intent of this collection, in which we let the women speak: nuns who lived between the 4th and 6th centuries in various regions of the West and East. Sometimes these are short sentences, stories of simple gestures, read by placing them within their context and freeing them from the prejudices with which they have been burdened: they are precious fragments of feminine wisdom to be rediscovered.
