La Casa del mugnaio

This reading of "Schöne Müllerin" by Wilhelm Müller and Franz Schubert (1823) places the song cycle in a multi-disciplinary perspective. The psychology of music illustrates how the listener experiences the temporal structuring of the work. At the same time, the tools of phenomenological psychopathology open revealing landscapes about the existential journey of the protagonist, the Miller. The interpretation is then contextualized in the intellectual and emotional relationship between the musician and his friend and poet Johann Mayrhofer.
